sharon montrose

Thanks to Beach Bungalow 8 I have just discovered Sharon Montrose. Sharon is a photographer/author specializing in dogs, cats, kids and babies. Her pictures on her blog are really cute and I just wanted to share some of her dog Squeak. Plus, her house looks beautiful too! But you have to check her out for yourself because there are about a million pictures of hers that I absolutely LOVE. I am obsessed with dogs and her photos have so much personality and spunk - obsessed!

Ok, I can't help it. They are too adorable I have to share some of her other photos as well [LOVE the tongues, LOVE when dogs lay out with their little paws stretched out behind them]...

So Adorable. If you want more of Sharon Montrose, check out her books, calendars, notecards and more

what do silverware and the bellagio fountains have in common?

Check out Elise Rijnberg from the Netherlands. She's part photographer and part designer, with a whole lot of food influence. The tablecloth below illustrates a correct table setting for a formal dinner - something many of us could probably brush up on. Plus, her super skinny silverware are really cute!! She also has a really cool shot of the fountains at the Bellagio - one of my all-time favorite things to do. I've seen dozens of songs and I still get chills everytime! Check out number 64 in the travel section - it gives me chills too!

it used to be such a happy place

These pictures of an old, abandoned amusement park are so sad, and yet kind of beautiful in a quirky, creepy, dejected sort of way... You can just picture all the children laughing and climbing onto the rides.

p.s. it kind of makes me want to start singing Madonna's This used to be my playground...

meadows & barns

I love these two pictures of an old 1888 barn from maya*made. She's in the process of renovating the barn but I love the photos!

a little bit of magic

I am obsessed with this photo by Utah's Mindy Johnson. OBSESSED. It is gorgeous and a little bit magical. It really makes me long for those simple summer days when the world was such an adventure.

Vanishing America

I recently discovered Michael Eastman's photos which depict everyday American venues such as movie theaters, diners, donut shops and more in a very melancholy sort of way. They are absolutely gorgeous photos! His book, Vanishing America: The End of Main Street Diners, Drive-Ins, Donut Shops, and Other Everyday Monuments showcases all of  these scenes, and they are also currently on display at DNJ Gallery in L.A. I never really experienced this America but it still makes me nostalgic.
