I recently discovered Michael Eastman's photos which depict everyday American venues such as movie theaters, diners, donut shops and more in a very melancholy sort of way. They are absolutely gorgeous photos! His book, Vanishing America: The End of Main Street Diners, Drive-Ins, Donut Shops, and Other Everyday Monuments showcases all of these scenes, and they are also currently on display at DNJ Gallery in L.A. I never really experienced this America but it still makes me nostalgic.
