The world has changed a lot since proverbs such as "A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle" and "A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step" were spoken, and as such, Nikki Farquharson has created a book of 65 Modern Proverbs. Her proverbs are riddled with modern references including Facebook, rehab, and our generation's obsession with sushi [because seriously, when they said "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, Teach him to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime," I'm fairly certain no matter how said man acquired fish, they assumed he would cook it.] Here are a few of my favorites:
