Fiera Milano

In 2004 Daniel Libeskind won the commission to design 106 acres of old fairgrounds in the heart of Madrid. The project, Fiera Milano, will be centered around a park and will feature residential, office and retail as well as a contemporary art museum.

According to Libeskind's website, the project will breathe new life into the veins of Milan and "create a new paradigm for new and emerging lifestyles, recreation and wellness."

The mixed use project is truly unique as it was designed unlike any other urban design in the world. Fiera Milano reexamines the physical environments that residents live and work in, while deliberately constructing stunning views and vistas, as well as "exciting pedestrian experiences."

Due to Fiera Milano's scope and enormity, Libeskind has collaborated with Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and Pier Paolo Maggiora on the project. The project is scheduled for completion in 2014.
